for harp, violin and trombone
This unfinished Trio is an ongoing work. Me and the players of Zone Experimental started to work on it in 2018 and it will be completed by the final meeting in 2020. At each meeting of Labor Beethoven I bring 1-2 movements to try out with the players. Each time I gain ideas and inspiration for further movements of the whole piece, which are based on our shared experience. This way the process of composing becomes different than my usual routine. Along with the special quality of this continues interaction with the performers, it makes the artistic creation spread over longer time than usual, making the piece grow in parallel to my own development as a person.
If I needed to define a common ground for the different movements of the piece, I would say they all deal with time. To be more specific: they deal with how time generates irrreversible changes in our inner and outer world, and the deceiving manner in which we perceive time. These movements present moments containing rapid linear processes. I tried to achieve coherence by the persistence of these processes and not by returning to the starting point. By doing so, I try to stress the arbitrary way the element of time effects our existence.
