Andrea Heilrath (* 1991 Landsberg am Lech)
Andrea Heilrath studied physics at the Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg and the Technical University Berlin. She works in research and teaching (Max-Born Institute Berlin, TU Berlin), and is particularly active in the field of science communication.
Where different disciplines meet, new holistic perspectives emerge. In the debate between art and science, a common language must be found so that genuine understanding can develop.
Andrea Heilrath contributes to this debate in various projects. In her bachelor thesis she dealt with "Complex Vibrations of Musical Instruments" and an entropy-based method of piano tuning. In November 2017 she had the opportunity to exhibit an audio-physical installation at the Herbstsalon of Gorki Theater Berlin. This installation was the basis for a collaboration with the composer Anda Kryeziu in the Labor Beethoven 2020. In the jointly developed piece "C" surface waves of water and properties of dilated fluids are used as physical visualization of sound.
With the association Experimental Stage Project e.V. she develops scientific installations with the aim of making scientific topics accessible and conveying enthusiasm for natural phenomena. In the university context (TU Berlin) she is working on the conception and realization of a seminar on science communication www.labpresent.de.
